In the early 20th century, the Daytons faced new challenges, including the rise of western expansion, prohibition, and the Great Depression. Although the Great Depression began in America in 1929, it began early in Montana. The Great Depression began in Montana in 1918, nearly 10 years before the rest of the country. While the rest of America was thriving, Montana was struggling. Between drought and the reduced demand for agricultural products caused by the "Great War" (also known as World War I, from 1914 to 1918), many farmers suffered greatly. As a result, Montana farmers would default on wartime loans, which would lead to widespread bank failures throughout the state. Between 1921 and 1925, half of Montana farmers lost their land. By 1925, 70,000 of the 82,000 homestead farms in Montana had gone bankrupt. Also, 200 banks in Montana failed. Not only did the drought affect crops, but also locust infestations and cattle infestations. Featured in the movie Timeless Heroes: Indiana Jones and Harrison Ford (2023). The feeling after Yellowstone was different, but still similar….. I really enjoyed it, and although I should have seen the ore, something makes me feel like maybe it could have been better (a tougher challenge after Yellowstone!) BUT. BUT. BUT…. It finally seems to be starting to work with the merging of the side stories… And then it ends – apparently this is set up for a second season – BUT – if it doesn’t, then you’ve just wasted your time because the story isn’t over by the end of this first season. And there’s currently no announcement or schedule for a second season…. It’s driving me so crazy! It’s like going to a fancy restaurant and being served only side dishes without the main course!!! What The Heck….Come on producers…. Pull your fingers out!!!!
