The town set was built specifically for the series in North Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia
Solve the mystery of a small town in the middle of the USA that closes in on anyone who enters. As the residents struggle to maintain their sense of normalcy and find a way out, they must also survive the threats of the forest that surrounds them. The site, known as Beaver Bank Mansion, has a long history and many years ago contained housing units, a community hall, a fire station, a school, a church, a general store, etc.
A rope is lowered down to it
(all demolished by 2004) to support workers from the nearby military radar base that operated in the 1950s and 1960s. All that remains are the paved streets and alleys, and a mock town has been built on top of them. When Boyd climbs a distant tree, he finds himself at the bottom of a well.
Martin did not throw the rope

You are heading straight for the same trap
I am writing this to the writers and producers of the series: Please don’t make this another Strata – another disappointment. None of the characters communicate with each other or share what is happening in the town. It is as if they have suddenly become unaware, deliberately withholding important information that could help them understand what is happening.
And it is so annoying
Something new happens in every single episode, but it is never explained. I have watched 14 episodes so far and nothing is clarified – just like Lost. So please, writers and producers, don’t spoil this either.
